Ex FARC Peace Negotiator Ivan Márquez: We'll take up arms again!

Former FARC commander (and chief Peace Negotiator in Havana) Ivan Márquez announced that the group he leads has taken the decision to take up arms again.

"We announce to the world that the second Marquetalia [where the FARC were born more than half a century ago] has begun under the protection of the universal right that assists all the peoples of the world that rise up in arms against oppression." With these words, the former FARC commander (and chief Peace Negotiator in Havana) Ivan Márquez announced that the group he leads has taken the decision to take up arms again.

A 32 minutes video, released on You Tube, in which Márquez explained the reasons for the decision.

In the video he appears together with other former leaders of that group,  including Seuxis Paucias Hernández, alias "Jesús Santrich" and Hernán Darío Velásquez, alias "El Paisa", who months ago stopped fulfilling their commitments to the Special Justice for Peace (JEP).

Márquez announced "a new stage of armed conflict".
