DKTM Strasbourg pays tribute to May Martyrs

In the commemoration organized by DKTM Strasbourg, attention was drawn to the invasion attacks and the use of chemical weapons against the guerrillas, and a call was made to respond to the war crimes committed.

In Strasbourg, the May Martyrs, Aysel Doğan and the guerrillas fallen in the last invasion attack were commemorated. The memorial, which was attended by the people of Kurdistan, started with a minute's silence for the martyrs of the Kurdistan revolution.

The memorial saw the presence of Martyr Imam Taş's family and was enriched by a screening about the May Martyrs and Imam Taş.

His family talked about the revolutionary character of Martyr Imam Taş and his participation in the struggle, and pointed out that he was one of the thousands who devoted themselves to the Kurdish struggle. Emphasizing that every martyr represents the honour of Kurds, the speakers added that the path was in fact marked by the martyrs.

Kurdish politician Kemal Aktaş drew attention to the historical resistance of the Kurdish people and its leadership, and said that it is the promise given to the martyrs to bring the 50-year struggle to victory. Emphasizing that the PKK is a party of martyrs, Aktaş added that each martyr clearly marked the path to freedom.

Afterwards, politician Fırat Baran said that May represents an important date for the Kurdish Freedom Movement. "The martyrs wrote history with their own resistance against the imperialist powers in front of the world's eyes and will never be forgotten."
