DKP’s Erol Dundar on indefinite hunger strike

Erol Dundar, who is under arrest in the DKP/Birlik case, joined the indefinite nonalternating hunger strikes on March 1. 

Democratic Society Congress (DTK) Co-chair and Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) Hakkari MP Leyla Guven is on day 125 of her hunger strike demanding an end to the isolation imposed upon Kurdish Peoples’ Leader Abdullah Ocalan. The prison hunger strikes launched after Guven have spread throughout all prisons as of March 1. Erol Dundar, under arrest in the Revolutionary Communards Party/Unity (DKP/Birlik), joined the indefinite nonalternating hunger strikes on March 1. 

Other DKP/Unity prisoners in the Edirne Type F Closed Prison, Kandira Type F Closed Prison. Kiriklar Type F Closed Prison and Bakirkoy Women’s Closed Prison also went on a 7-day hunger strike in support. The prisoners relayed a message through their families announcing their hunger strike starting on March 11.
