Demo in Duisburg against Turkey’s attacks on the Kurds

Protests against the Turkish state’s increasingly ongoing genocidal attacks against the Kurdish people and their lands continue in Europe and beyond.

The Democratic Kurdish Community Center (DTKM) and AGIF (Federation of Migrant Workers in Germany) promoted a demonstration in Duisburg city to protest against Turkey’s annihilation campaign against the Kurdish people in various parts of Kurdistan.

During the demonstration at Königstr. DTKM co-chair Niyazi Öztaş and Amara Tolhildan of Martyr Asya Yüksel Women’s Council addressed the crowd.

Speakers vowed that they would be taking to the streets every day in protest at Turkey’s barbaric attacks, saying; “Erdoğan and his mercenaries are attacking the Kurds more violently as they lose. They want to take revenge in this way.”

Speakers also called on everyone to raise their voices against the ever-increasing cases of rape and murder in Turkey. They defined sexual abuse and rape against women and children as an annihilation policy and called upon the European public to stand against the human rights violations committed by the Turkish state.

The demonstration ended with a call for strong participation in the demonstration to be held at König-Heinrichplatz on July 29 in protest at violence against women.
