DEM Party: We discussed steps to be taken for a solution

The DEM Party announced that in its meetings with the CHP and the New Welfare Party (YRP), they discussed steps to be taken toward peace and a solution.

The Press Office of the Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) issued a written statement following meetings held by the party’s co-chairs Tülay Hatimoğulları and Tuncer Bakırhan with the CHP and the YRP.

The statement said: "The meetings, in which there was an exchange of views on current issues, were very productive. In both visits, the democratic future of Turkey, the most recent meeting between Mr. Abdullah Öcalan and our party delegation, and the congress decisions announced by the PKK on 12 May were evaluated. Furthermore, the strengthening of inter-party dialogue and the steps to be taken under the roof of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) for peace and a solution were addressed. Within this framework, the importance of establishing a fully authorized commission within the TBMM and adopting a method that ensures the active participation of political parties in this process is shared."

The DEM Party’s political consultations are expected to continue on Friday, 23 May 2025, with a visit to the Future Party.
