The Press Office of the People's Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) issued a statement about some planned meetings following the DEM Party delegation's meeting with Leader Abdullah Öcalan on 28 December.
The statement said that Ahmet Türk (co-mayor of Mardin, now replaced by a trustee) will join the DEM Party delegation, which includes Sırrı Süreyya Önder and Pervin Buldan.
According to the statement, the delegation is scheduled to meet with the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, Numan Kurtulmuş, at 1.30pm, and the leader of the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP), Devlet Bahçeli, at 3pm in Parliament today.
The statement said: "On 28 December, our Parliament deputy Speaker Sırrı Süreyya Önder and our MP Pervin Buldan met with Mr. Abdullah Öcalan in Imrali. As previously announced, the delegation is now embarking on a series of meetings with political parties represented in Parliament.
After the Imrali visit, the delegation first briefed our co-chairs Tülay Hatimoğulları and Tuncer Bakırhan on the developments. Today, accompanied by Kurdish politician Ahmet Türk, the delegation will meet with the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, Numan Kurtulmuş, and the leader of the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP), Devlet Bahçeli".
The statement added: "The delegation, comprising Pervin Buldan, Sırrı Süreyya Önder, and Amhet Türk, will also meet various civil society organizations, labor unions, and professional associations after completing their meetings with political parties in Parliament.
The purpose of these meetings is to provide information about the Imrali visit and gather opinions and suggestions. Once the meetings are concluded, the delegation will make a detailed public statement and provide updates to the public."
