DEM executive Karadağ sent to prison

DEM Party Assembly member Izzet Karadağ, who was taken into custody in his house in the center of Urfa, was sent to prison for allegedly "membership in an illegal organization" and for providing aid to earthquake victims.

Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party DEM Party Assembly (PM) member Izzet Karadağ, who was taken into custody in his home in Urfa (Riha) center on Thursday morning within the scope of an investigation launched by the Adıyaman Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, was sent to prison by Adıyaman Courthouse Criminal Judgeship of Peace.

The aid provided by Karadağ, who was arrested on the charge of being a "member of an illegal organisation" during the earthquake was also considered a crime. Karadağ was accused of carrying out party activities with the earthquake aid allegedly under the instructions of the illegal organization.

Karadağ, who was referred to the Criminal Court of Peace with a request for arrest after his statement to the prosecutor's office, was sent to prison.
