Day of Action for the hunger strikers on 25 April

Tomorrow German activists are launching a huge poster campaign to draw attention the hunger strike resistance against isolation.

German activists are launching a huge poster campaign across the country in order to draw attention to the 7 thousand prisoners on hunger strike demanding the end of isolation against Öcalan.

The feminist movement ‘Let's fight together’ and the campaign organized by Tatort Kurdistan, which has been working for a long time to draw attention to the war in Kurdistan, are denouncing the serious conditions of prisons.

Call to join the action on 25 April

The German activists declared Thursday (25 April) as the "day of action", and will start hanging posters of the 7,000 prisoners, Leyla Güven and Öcalan across Germany. It was learned that posters with slogans such as ‘Break the silence’ and ‘7,000 against isolation’ will be hung in squares, streets, public spaces, vehicles, bikes, balconies and trees.

The organisers of the campaign called on everyone to “contact us to get your poster” and invited all sensitive people in favor of democracy and human rights to hang a poster on Thursday.

“We heard the voice of the resistance and we want to spread it”, said the organizations, aiming to mobilize the European Union, the Council of Europe and the Torture Monitoring Committee (CPT).

The promoters said that the wall of silence has been put up despite the resistance carried out by 7,000 prisoners.

A part from hanging posters the promoters asked that participants take photos of the posters they put up and publish them on their social media accounts.
