Court sentences HDP executive Nihat Akkaya to 10 months in prison
Former HDP Central Council member Nihat Akkaya was sentenced to 10 months in prison.
Today the final hearing of the case against the former HDP Central Council member, Nihat Akkaya, was held.
Akkaya was accused of "making propaganda for an illegal organization" for using the expression "Mr. Abdullah Öcalan" and for his speech at the 2019 Newroz celebration in Antalya.
At the end of the hearing, at Antalya 9th High Criminal Court, Akkaya was sentenced to 10 months in prison. The penalty has been postponed.
