Coronavirus leads to parliamentary recess in Iran

The number of people in Iran who have died of the coronavirus has increased to 34, according to official figures. High-ranking politicians and members of parliament are also infected. All parliamentary sessions have been cancelled until further notice.

The coronavirus is spreading rapidly in Iran. According to official figures, 34 people have died of the virus disease so far, and 388 people have been diagnosed infected. Most infections have occurred in Tehran and the province of Gilan on the Caspian Sea coast.

Among those infected are high-ranking politicians and parliamentarians. According to a parliamentary spokesperson, four out of thirty parliamentarians tested were found to be infected. All parliamentary sessions have been cancelled until further notice.
