During the ongoing excavations in the garden of Gendarmerie Station in Mutki District of Bitlis, bones belonging to 8 people were found today. Bones of 12 people, 9 being civilians, had come into view in previous excavations.
Following the finding of bones belonging to 12 people in the excavations started at the first point related to the "Mass grave” in the garden of Gendarmerie Station where 36 PKK (Kurdistan Worker Party) members were said to be graved, bones of 8 people more were found during excavations for two days in another point Mutki waste yard.
Forensic Medicine Specialists arrived at the scene where the bodies of six people were found side by side, two being covered with a blanket and other 4 in another blanket. The prosecution suspended the excavations for the experts to detect and take the bones from the scene.
