The racist attacks against Kurds in Belgium were protested in the German cities of Leipzig, Frankfurt, Giessen and Darmstadt.

LEIPZIG

The East German Federation of Free Kurds (FED-KURD) organized a protest in Leipzig central train station. Hundreds of Kurds condemned the attacks carried out by a fascist mob against Kurds in Belgium last Sunday.

Statements were made in German and English condemning the AKP-MHP government and the Turkish state.

FRANKFURT

Dozens of Kurdish people gathered at the Frankfurt Central Train Station in a demonstration protest in solidarity with Kurdish families who were subjected to racist attacks by AKP-MHP affiliated mobs in the Belgian town of Heusden Zolder.

GIESSEN

The attacks against Kurds in Belgium were condemned at a protest event held in Giessen. Kurds and their friends protested the attack and sent messages of solidarity and unity.

Representatives of the Kurdish community, German citizens and civil society organizations from Giessen and its surroundings attended the protest.

Representatives of the Kurdish community in Giessen stated that the security of Kurds and other minorities living in Germany should be ensured, and asked the German government and the international community to condemn such attacks and take precautions.

DARMSTADT

The attack by AKP-MHP fascists on Kurdish people returning home from the Newroz celebration in Belgium was also protested in Darmstadt. A declaration of the Congress of Democratic Societies of European Kurdistan (KCDK-E) was read in German during the protest.

FCDK-KAWA Federation co-chair Mehmet Çopan said: "The fascists linked to the Turkish state once again showed their dirty and barbaric face in Belgium. But they should know that they cannot intimidate the Kurdish people with such attacks."
