AKP’s intolerance to Kurdish conference in Strasbourg University

The AKP state has left virtually no democratic areas in Turkey and now they have filed a complaint against a conference on the Kurdish struggle in a university in France.

HDP MP Faysal Sarıyıldız, French director Luis Miranda and doctoral student Andrea Benedetti had attended the conference titled “Kurdistan: The history and Resistance of A People in Struggle” held in Strasbourg on Tuesday. The conference was held by the association Alsace Solidarité Kurdistan and Bas-Rhin department Young Communists Movement (MCF).

FASCIST STUDENTS THREATENED

After the conference, some students who support the MHP shared a photograph on Facebook with the caption “We swear that we will run you out of the university”.

CONSULATE LAWYER ISSUED A COMPLAINT “WITHOUT INSTRUCTION”!

Meanwhile, a lawyer who works in the Turkish Consulate in Paris continued the intolerance towards the conference. The lawyer based in Rouen named Selçuk Demir shared a complaint petition on his Facebook account that claims the conference on the Kurds constituted “terrorist propaganda”.

The complaint is filed with a court in Strasbourg and demands punishment for the photographs of Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan present in the conference.

The person who claims to work in the Turkish Consulate as a “legal advisor” shared the complaint on Facebook, where he significantly noted he was “acting out of [his] own volition and didn’t receive orders from anybody”.

MCF: WE WON’T BE INTIMIDATED

MCF issued a statement against the provocation by AKP fascism and pointed out that the complaint came after the verbal attacks by MHP fascists.

The statement stressed that the MCF won’t allow for the intimidation moves by the AKP and continued: “As Turkey barrels towards a fascist dictatorship, as Erdoğan finances gangs like ISIS and-Al Nusra to destroy the revolutionary project in Rojava, supporting the Kurdish people’s resistance against assimilation and destruction will continue to be a duty for us internationalists.”
