HDP (Peoples' Democratic Party) Group Deputy Chairman İdris Baluken announced information on the trade that took place between the AKP government and ISIS when ISIS had control of Akçakale border gate. Baluken noted that trade stopped completely when the YPG took control of the border gate, and asked what was being exported to ISIS when it held the gate.
During the Turkish parliament’s budget meeting, HDP Group Deputy Chairman İdris Baluken announced export figures that shed light on the economic relations between the AKP government and ISIS. Baluken asked the government about the significance of its trade with ISIS, and asked why all trade through Akçakale border gate stopped when PYD took control of the gate.
Baluken point out the inconsistency of the trade figures presented by the Foreign Affairs Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, and recalled the data from the Ministry of Customs and Trade suggesting that the volume of total exports through Akçakale under ISIS control amounted to 7 million USD.

Baluken spoke on the trade that occurs through Karkamış/Cerablus border gate, and said that Turkey’s exports to ISIS through this gate amounts to 5 million USD. Baluken demanded government officials to explain the content and significance of their trade with ISIS.
