Kurdish Women’s Movement in Europe (TJK-E) promoted a demonstration on the French city of Strasbourg to protest against Turkey’s incursion into northern Syria and the October 9 International Conspiracy against Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan.

Kurdish politician Besime Konca and KCDK-E (Democratic Kurdish Society Congress in Europe) Co-chair Fatoş Göksungur addressed the crowd after they gathered in front of the Council of Europe.

The crowd then started a march which was set to reach the US Embassy but continued in front of the CoE instead after Turkey announced the launch of the incursion into northern Syria.

The protest continued despite an intervention by the police.

A delegation representing the crowd met CoE officials regarding the Turkish operation against the region and called on the EU institutions to fulfill their mission.

CoE officials said that the demands of the protesters would be conveyed to all institutions and discussed.
