Activists in Catania block Turkish Airlines check-in desk in solidarity with Kurdish people

On Sunday evening, Italian internationalists blocked the Turkish Airlines Terminal at Catania Airport to protest the bombing of the Kurdish people by the Turkish state.

Italian internationalists blocked the Turkish Airlines Terminal at Catania Airport, in Sicily, to protest the bombing of the Kurdish people by the Turkish state.

During the demonstrations, there was a banner saying: “Stop Turkish attack! Defend Kurdistan”.

Turkish airstrikes on areas in north-eastern Syria continue to bomb civilian infrastructure: schools, hospitals, community centers, power supplies,  grain elevators and liberate thousands of members of ISIS.

The activists said: "We blocked the terminal to draw people’s attention to what happens to the money that goes to Turkish Airlines and in general to all Turkish economic structures. At this moment, it's important to turn the spotlight on the economic operations between Turkey and Italy, including the sending of weapons through the Leonardo industry. Italy is one of the most important army suppliers in Europe. We have to put pressure on the institutions if we want Italy to stop being an accomplice of war crimes."
