Activists in Athens march against racism

Activists in Athens marched to protest US racism as well as repression on Kurds.

A march was organized in Athens, joined by thousands to commemorate George Floyd, who died as a result of the racist attack of the police in the US, and to defend the brotherhood of the peoples against racism.

People gathered in Syntagma Square carrying banners in Greek, Kurdish, Turkish and English, and photos of people murdered in Kurdistan as well as of George Floyd.

Left, socialist and anarchist organizations, joined the march as did the Turkey-Greece Actions Union of Kurdistan (PKK MLCP DKP / BOG, MKP, TKP-ML).

A banner saying 'YPG-No pasaran’ opened the march which ended in front of the US Consulate where activists shouted slogans. The march was attacked by the police with gas bombs and the activists responded with sound bombs and Molotov cocktails.
