The organizations that came together under Platform to Protect Afrin, urged UN to stop Turkey’s massacres and crimes against humanity in Afrin ahead of the long march from Lausanne to Geneva.

In a statement addressed to United Nations the organizations said that they won’t remain silent on Turkey’s invasion attacks on Afrin and called on all people to join the resistance to stop Turkish atrocities.
“We reject Turkish state’s war and invasion in Afrin, which threatens peoples of Kurdistan and we say that we take side with the righteous and legitimate struggle of the people of Afrin” the statement read.

The organizations said that the invasion attack is a crime against humanity in context of the international war and added “The regional and global powers’ led by the US, Russia and European countries’ silence are making them accomplices in this invasion crime”.

The statement listed following demands:

-The international community should lay a diplomatic, financial and military embargo on the Turkish state.

- UN should hold a special session and should take a stance against Turkey’s invasion and genocide attacks.

- The airspace along Rojava border with Turkey should be declared as no-fly zone to prevent future invasion attempts, stop the genocide, protect stability and security of the region.

The representatives of the organizations will start a long march from Lausanne to Geneva between 12-16 February.
