7 workers detained

The police raided the tent where 15 TOKI workers were holding a demonstration because they haven’t been paid for 2 years, and detained 7 of them.

15 workers in the Housing Development Administration’s (TOKİ) 1.312-unit housing project in Mamak, Ankara have been holding a demonstration in front of the construction site for 7 years because they haven’t received any wages for the last 2 years. The tent the workers set up was attacked by the police late last night and 3 workers who refused to end the demonstration were detained.

4 others were detained when they protested their friends’ detention, and the police took down the tent.

3 of the detained workers’ names are Omer, Kerem and Ozan.
