5-day demo demanding "Freedom for Öcalan" launched in Hanover

Kurds and their friends continue their demonstrations worldwide demanding freedom for Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan.

The Kurdish Community Center (NAV-DEM) in Hanover has launched a five-day vigil at Hauptbahnof on Monday. The action demanding physical freedom for Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan is being carried out in a tent set up in the square.

From 3 pm to 5 pm every day, the activists will inform the passers-by about the isolation imposed on Öcalan and his importance for the achievement of peace in the region, as well as the Turkish massacres in Kurdistan territory.

Speakers organizing the demo said, “Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan who has been held behind bars for years, is being subject to an unlawful isolation for all the world to see. We, the Kurds, will make our voice heard everywhere until this absolute isolation is broken and our Leader gains his freedom. We promise to expand our struggle to this end.”

The action will end on Friday.
