47 ISIS members killed in Tabqa since yesterday

SDF repelled the attacks ISIS launched on Tabqa's Alexandria neighborhood, and south and northwest of Tabqa since yesterday. 47 ISIS members including 7 suicide bombers were killed during clashes.

YPG-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) continue their Operation Wrath of Euphrates to liberate the Tabqa city and Euphrates Dam at full force. ISIS gangs stranded in Tabqa city are resorting to all methods and launching intensified attacks in order to break the siege laid around them.

SDF fighters advanced 500 meters in Alexandria neighborhood and 1 km in Ayid Saxîr neighborhood Monday afternoon. Both neighborhoods witnessed urban combat fighting throughout today. Dozens of ISIS members have been killed during clashes since yesterday evening and corpses of 15 remained in possession of SDF alongside 15 Kalashnikov rifles and munitions.

In an effort to break the siege around them, ISIS gangs have launched an attack on Ayid Kebîr village to the south of Tabqa at around 05:00 this morning. The response of SDF fighters resulted in clashes and 5 ISIS members that attempted suicide attacks among the civilians in the village were neutralized by SDF fighters.

While the fighting lasted around three hours, corpses of 5 other ISIS members, 4 Kalashnikov rifles and munitions remained in possession of SDF fighters.

At around 17:20 Tuesday afternoon, ISIS gangs launched an attack on the positions of SDF fighters in the area between Tabqa city center and Cezîre region to the northwest of the city. The aggression was the heaviest one launched by the gangs during the past two weeks. During continued clashes, 2 suicide bombers of the ISIS were killed. In the face of an increasing number of suicide bombers, SDF fighters pulled one stage back and continued the fighting.

In the wake of fierce clashes, SDF fighters took back the area they had retreated from, while over 20 ISIS members remained stranded in a house during the fighting. International coalition jets hit this area and these gangs were all buried in the wreckage of the building demolished by the airstrike.

Attacks of the gangs weakened afterwards and their aggression that continued until 21:00 was fully repelled.

6 SDF fighters got injured during clashes and 2 of them with critical injuries lost their lives while they were being rushed to hospital.

Sporadic clashes are ongoing in the region.
