40 KESK union members taken into custody in Istanbul

Workers and union members were protesting against illegal dismissal from work.

Police once again attacked members of the Confederation of Public Workers Unions (KESK) in Istanbul and took 40 people into custody.

The union members have been protested for 70 weeks against the so called Decree Law, by which thousands of workers were dismissed from their jobs, after the 15 July coup.

The unions ask the reinstatement of workers illegally dismissed.

The public workers and union members gathered at Altıyol Square in Kadıköy and opened a banner saying 'We will get our jobs back'.

The workers and unionists wanted to explain to the public the reason for their protest but police prevented them from doing so. In fact they attacked the union members and took 40 people into custody.
