4 people sent to prison in Patnos, 14 taken into custody in Istanbul

Four of the 6 people taken into custody in Patnos, province of Ağrı over the weekend were jailed. In Istanbul, 14 people were detained in the operation targeting the United Revolutionary Party and Dev-Guç members.

Şirin Kurt, Resul Kurt, Abdullah Kurt, Coşkun Çetres, Ismet Gürel and Islam Acar were detained following house raids in Patnos on 20 June.

Two of the detainees were released after their statements to the prosecutor's office, and 4 people who were referred to the Criminal Judgeship of Peace on Duty were sent to prison on the charge of "membership of a terrorist organization".

Those arrested are Abdullah Kurt, Coşkun Çetres, Ismet Gürel and Islam Acar.

Police operation in Istanbul carried out this morning

In Istanbul, an operation was carried out against this morning targeting members of the United Revolutionary Party and the Young Revolutionary Forces (Dev-Guç).

14 people were detained following police raids. The reason for the detention was not disclosed.

The names of those detained are as follows: Beyza Çapar, Sedef Özer, Bekir Açar, Başak Yeşilot, Ömer Şengül, Özgür Sazlık, Murat Pircan Yaratan, Yeşim Tükel, Çağla Deniz Gündüz, Hasan Taş, Mazlum Oruç, Umut Doğan, Muhammed Şahin Uca, Ibrahim Zencir.
