3 more communists go on hunger strikes against isolation

3 more prisoners from the Marxist Leninist Communist Party (MLKP) and MLKP/Communist Women’s Organization (KKO) cases joined the indefinite nonalternating hunger strikes.

The hunger strikes led by Leyla Guven demanding an end to the isolation imposed upon Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Ocalan continue to spread. Prisoners have been on hunger strikes in all prisons since March 1.

3 more prisoners from the Marxist Leninist Communist Party (MLKP) and Communist Women’s Organization (KKO) cases joined the indefinite nonalternating hunger strikes as the second group.

The second group joining the hunger strikes include Soner Cicek from the Malatya Closed Prison, Ercan Gortas from the Tekirdag Type F Prison No.1 and Hatice Duman from the Bakirkoy Closed Women’s Prison. The 3 prisoners started their indefinite nonalternating hunger strikes on April 10.

MLKP and MLKP/KKO prisoners Muhabbet Kurt, Hulya Gercek, Ali Haydar Saygili and Aydin Akyuz have been on an indefinite nonalternating hunger strike since March 1. Communist prisoners continue their hunger strike on day 41.
