23 detained in operation against CHP municipality in Adana

The dismissed mayor is among the 23 people detained by the police in Ceyhan district of Adana today.

Turkish police carried out raids in Ceyhan district of Adana this morning in the scope of an “bribery” investigation launched by Adana Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office. As many as 23 people were taken into custody following raids in several houses, businesses and the municipality building.

Those detained in the operation include co-mayor Kadir Aydar who had been deposed in late March 2020.

Denying the allegations of bribery, Aydar described today’s operation as a campaign to discredit them.
