YRK reports Turkish bombardments on Asos region

YRK announced that the Turkish state bombarded the Asos region twice yesterday. The attack did not result in casualties but caused great damage to the environment.

The Eastern Kurdistan Defense Units (YRK) Press and Liaison Center made a written statement providing information about the latest attacks by the occupying Turkish state against the Asos region.

YRK stated that the Turkish state continued its attacks against the gains of the people, the fighters, guerrillas and their forces.

According to the statement, Turkish warplanes bombed the Asos region twice at 23.11 pm last night.

“Although our forces were not harmed in the attack, the nature and the gardens of the people living in the area were severely damaged. In addition, the attacks caused great fear and anxiety among the people of the region,” the statement said.

YRK pointed out that such attacks have increased at a time when a new peace and democracy process has begun under the leadership of Abdullah Öcalan and with the efforts of the Kurdistan Freedom Movement.

“The Turkish state ignores this process and attacks the Kurdistan Defense Forces every day with drones and warplanes. In this critical period, we call on all those who act with a sense of responsibility, our people and the international community to see these open and reckless attacks by Turkey and to take a clear stance against these attacks.”
