YPG Press Office has reported that Gitar Village and 4 hamlets have been liberated in an operation of the YPG/YPJ forces launched last night on the area around Zila village in Cizîrê canton. Furthermore, the strategically important hill of Ebû Sirî has been cleansed of the gangs in Kobanê.
YPG Press Office has reported in a written statement that Gitar Village and 4 hamlets have been liberated in an operation of the YPG/YPJ forces launched on the area around Zila village as part of the second stage of the Operation Commander Rubar Qamishlo, which was launched to liberate rural areas to the west of Cizîrê canton and continues on 35th day.
YPG Press Office said YPG/YPJ forces continue to advance to Silûk town from east and north east sides, and launched an operation last night on the areas of Zila village, liberating the village of Gitar and 4 hamlets.
YPG also reported that ISIS gangs launched an attack on the Aliya and Ebdalla villages, 8-9 km to the east of Silûk, yesterday afternoon, adding that the attacks were repulsed by the YPG/YPJ forces that also seized the corpses of 5 gang members in addition to a large amount of ammunition.
YPG went on recalling that the resistance in Kobanê successfully continues in its 268th day. YPG reported that the YPG/YPJ forces launched a new operation on the gang groups in the area to the southeast of Kobanê yesterday, liberating the strategically important hill of Ebû Sirî. YPG said the number of the casualties of the gangs could not yet be verified, while the corpses of 3 gang members were seized. YPG lastly added that YPG/YPJ forces continue to advance, while clashes also go on around the village of Ebû Sirî.
