YPG: Silûk liberated, pincer operation started

YPG Press Office has said in a written statement that Silûk town and many villages have been liberated in the scope of the Operation Commander Rubar Qamishlo which entered its 39th day. YPG also announced that a pincer operation has been started against the gang groups emplaced in Tel Abyad and its surroundings.
YPG announced in its statement that the town of Siluk has been liberated as of yesterday and mop-up activities continue in the town, adding that the villages of Seîdo, Xişman, Til Eşq Seîde, Bêjing, Kevok, Enzê, Mişêrfa Şêx, Îsawî, Ayn Ul Arus and 20 hamlets located between Silûk and Tel Ebyad have also been liberated from the gangs by the YPG/YPJ forces after they took the whole town of Silûk under their control.
“Our forces that waged an epic struggle in Kobanê have advanced from the west and south west parts towards Tel Abyad and inflicted heavy blows on the gangs”, said the YPG.
The statement further added that the YPG/YPJ forces from Kobanê have liberated the villages of Frêhan, Hêmira Kurda, Hemira Ereba, Boxa ya Mezin, Boxa ya Biçuk, Rafî, Sikêrat, Im Hiwêş, Nihit, Ebu Zihur, Bedrîa, Ebu Xireze, Xirbet Ebid, Xirbê Elwe, Curîl Xet, Gundê, Cihişa, Seddê, Faris, Eribet Ecil a Mezin, Eribet Ecil a Biçuk and Mebdece to the west and south west of Tel Abyad in the last 24 hours.
YPG reported that clashes are taking place between ISIS gangs and the YPG/YPJ forces advancing to Tel Abyad from the east, adding that the YPG/YPJ forces have advanced up to 4 km to the road between Raqqa and Tel Abyad in order to cut the connection of the gangs in Tel Abyad with Raqqa.
YPG said dozens of gang members were killed in the clashes of the last 24 hours, and added that 1 YPG fighter has fallen a martyr after stepping on a mine laid by the gang groups.
YPG lastly stressed that the news appearing on some media organs alleging that the civilians are harmed in the operation is far from reality and added: “Our forces, fully aware that the ISIS gangs use the civilians as human shields, act in utmost attentiveness. No civilians have been harmed in our operation so far”.
