YPG Press Office has reported in a written statement that the villages of Zîla, Ceşkiya, Sikeriyê and Ebdella and 3 hamlets have been liberated within the scope of the Operation Commander Rubar Qamishlo launched to cleanse the rural parts and villages to the west of Cizîrê canton of Rojava. The statement also reported that YPG/YPJ forces launched an operation against the ISIS gangs in the areas next to Bîrevdo village of Kobanê.
YPG said the Operation Commander Rubar Qamishlo continues successfully in its 34th day and reported that the YPG/YPJ forces continued their operations in the northeast and east of Silûk town yesterday noon and last night.
YPG said the villages of Zîla and Ceşkiya as well as 3 hamlets were liberated at noon hours, while two other villages, Sikeriyê and Ebdella were liberated during the night operations. YPG added that the number of gangs’ casualties could not be verified.
YPG recalled the attacks of the gangs launched on the east side of Mount Kizwan on 5-6 June, adding that the attacks that were mainly targeting the Hasekê town centre have all been repulsed.
YPG/YPJ fighters that have launched search and cleaning facilities in the area have seized corpses of 9 gang members as well as a large amount of ammunition.
Operation in Bîrevdo village of Kobanê
YPG went on reporting the clashes in Kobanê on the 267th day of resistance, and said the YPG/YPJ forces launched an operation on the gang groups located in the area next to Bîrevdo village to the east of Kobanê. 1 gang member was ascertained killed in the operation, said the YPG statement.
YPG lastly reported that the search and cleaning activities launched in the village of Kirat to the south of Kobanê after the gang groups were repulsed from the area have been completed. “Our forces seized corpses of 6 gang members within the scope of this activity”, concluded the statement.
