YBŞ/YJŞ Command: KDP should withdraw its forces immediately

YBŞ/YJŞ (Shengal/Women's Resistance Units) Command said that that the instructions for the ‘Rojava Peshmerga’ to enter the Xanesor area were developed after Barzani’s visit to Ankara where he met with Turkish officials.

In a statement about the forced attempt of the KDP-affiliated ‘Rojava Peshmerga’ group to enter the Xanesor area, the YBŞ/YJŞ (Shengal/Women's Resistance Units) Command said that that the instructions for the ‘Rojava Peshmerga’ to enter the Xanesor area were developed after Barzani’s visit to Ankara where he met with Turkish officials.

The statement said the followings:

“At around 2 o’clock noon on March 2, the Roj Peshmergas of the KDP attempted to seize the positions of our forces at Xanesor. As is well known, Xanesor was liberated from the Daesh (ISIS) gangs by our forces in the autumn of 2014, and is now under the control of our forces. It is not a coincidence that this initiative developed after Barzani’s visit to Ankara. It is a totally provocative initiative aimed at lowering and interfering with Sengal Yazidis in line with the instructions from Ankara.

As YBŞ/YJŞ forces we are certainly not in favor of experiencing any tense situation. These forces must be withdrawn immediately and removed from our zone.

We call on our people to be extremely sensitive to this game developed and to act on this basis.”
