Fighters from the Habur Defence Assembly say fighting against ISIS to defend the Assyrian-Syriac villages around Til Temir with Kurds, Arabs and members of other communities in the YPG is a great morale-booster. They say they will fight until the scourge of ISIS is completely eradicated. Habur Defence Assembly fighters assessed the situation on the 9th day of ISIS attacks on Assyrian villages around Til Temir. They called on progressive humanity to be more aware of what is going on in Rojava.
The fighters said many people had been slaughtered or abducted by the gangs.
In Rojava the different communities are fighting for freedom together
A Habur Defence Assembly fighter by the name of Davit said they were fighting for a free Rojava and a free Syria on the basis of the co-existence of peoples. He added that the gangs were wreaking destruction wherever they went. Davit said the gangs had attacked 10 Assyrian villages around Til Temir, adding: “They wanted to carry out a massacre of Assyrians like the perpetrated on the Yazidis. Thanks to the defence we have put up with the YPG a massacre has been prevented, however, we do not know what has happened to the people they abducted,”
'Turkey is helping the gangs to blockade our villages’
A 39-year-old fighter by the name of Mishar said that 3 days prior to the gang attacks the level of the Khabur river had risen more than it had done for 15 years. “We therefore presumed that Turkey was doing this to blockade our villages and help the gangs.
Mishar saidf the success of the YPG against the gangs in Til Hemis and Til Barak had boosted their morale, adding: “The end of the gangs is near. Soon, with our Kurdish and Arab brothers and sisters, we will get rid of the gangs. We believe our people will return to their villages and that we will take revenge for our martyrs.”
‘Regional forces bring the gangs to Rojava’
A 32-year-old fighter, who did not wish to give his name, said that there were Turks, Indonesians and other people of Far Eastern origin amongst the gangs. He said he thought certain regional forces were bringing the gangs to Rojava, adding that the Turkish state was still assisting the gangs. An Arab fighter said the YPG was defending all the communities in Til Temir and Rojava and that he believed the ISISD gangs would definitely be defeated.
