Village guard Fuat Kilagus (41) was killed at Ipekyolu district on Friday.

According to police reports, at 22h45 on Friday gunmen opened fire and killed Kilagus in front of his home. Kilagus was rushed to the hospital and died of his wounds later.

Similarly, another village guard Metin Ertas was killed in Van last week.

Turkey established the village guard system in Northern Kurdistan to fight with the PKK. In recent years PKK rarely targeted village guards.
