Van co-mayor Zeydan: We invite our people to defend their will

Van Metropolitan Municipality co-mayor Abdullah Zeydan protested the Supreme Court's decision to overturn his legal rights, and said: "We invite all our people to defend their will and to overturn the game being played against them."

The AKP-MHP media claimed that the Supreme Court 3rd Criminal Chamber reviewed the decision of the local court regarding the return of legal rights of Van (Wan) Metropolitan Municipality co-mayor Abdullah Zeydan before the election. The news reported that the decision to return his legal rights given by the Diyarbakır 5th High Criminal Court was "irregular" and that the removal of the same decision with the application to the Diyarbakır Republic Chief Public Prosecutor's Office was also "irregular".

Van Metropolitan Municipality co-mayor Zeydan said: "First, the local court returns my rights, I enter the election and be elected as co-mayor with 55.5% of the votes. Then they would say 'We are sorry! We made a wrong calculation, we are taking back your rights'. Where are you going to put the will of hundreds of thousands, the right to vote and be elected? Our people defended their rights to vote, their will, democracy and justice on 31 March! They will defend them today as well. Our people will never accept their votes being given to thieves, plunderers and gangs who do not deserve them. We invite all our people to defend their will and to disrupt the game being played against them."
