Twenty thousands marched to the border
More than 20 thousand people have been marching to the border in Hakkari to protest against the detention this morning of 35 BDP (Peace and Democracy Party) executives and members.
As soon as the news of the arrests spread the shops shut down their shutters while others did not open at all. People from every area of Hakkari took to the street and march up to the border. There the people staged a sit in. As well as house raids the police launched an operation against the Democratic Solution Tent in the early hours of the morning.
