The Turkish state is seeking village guards in Elazığ’s Karakoçan district through pamphlets. After the resignation of 30 village guards in the district, the district governorate had announced that 20 new village guards would be hired. However, there have not been any applications so far. Therefore, the governorate issued pamphlets and village headmen are distributing these pamphlets across the district in order to recruit civilians.

The pamphlets distributed by Karakoçan district governorate stated that 20 village guards would be hired between January 2 and 11, and local sources report that no applications have been made to the governorate so far.
