The Turkish state carried out a military operation in the village of Çamurlu (Çamilî) in Özalp (Qelqelî), in the province of Van on Thursday afternoon. An abandoned house in the village was hit by soldiers. The village itself was blockaded by a large number of gendarmerie and armored vehicles.

According to the Mesopotamia Agency, two people lost their lives in the attack on the house. The bodies of those who lost their lives were removed from under the rubble with work machines. There was no information about who the two people were and where their bodies were taken.

Entry and exit to the village was not allowed for hours. It was reported that the house next to the scanned house was also raided and after the search, Ömer Kılıççeken and his son Sami Kılıççeken were taken into custody and taken to Özalp Gendarmerie Station.

Following the incident, a delegation consisting of Green Left Party Van MPs Gülcan Kaçmaz Sayyiğit, Sinan Çiftyürek, Mahmut Dindar and Zülküf Uçar, Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) representatives, Van Bar Association members, lawyers for Freedom Association (ÖHD) Branch and Human Rights Association (IHD) members set out to go to the village at night. The soldiers did not allow the delegation to enter.

The delegation was forced to leave as no entrance was granted.
