Turkish warplanes bombarded the village of Dereshê in Amediye district of Duhok between 20:00 and 21:00 yesterday evening.

Turkish airstrikes against guerrilla-held Medya Defense Zones in South Kurdistan territory continue increasingly.

Turkish warplanes bombarded the village of Dereshê in Amediye district of Duhok between 20:00 and 21:00 yesterday evening. The airstrike also targeted the 976 year old Sheikh İslam tomb located in the village. The tomb, also known as the Sheikh Ali Hekkari tomb, was completely destroyed but the grave of Sheikh Ali remained intact.

Sheikh İslam is of great spiritual value for the locals of Amediye, who protested the destruction of Turkish warplanes. Many people from İran and Afghanistan visit the Sheikh İslam tomb every year.
