Turkish army suffers heavy losses in Lelikan and Çarçela

A number of Turkish soldiers have been killed as a result of guerrilla actions in Lelikan and Çarçela in South and North Kurdistan.

According to information provided by local sources, HPG guerrillas carried out an action against Turkish military units stationed on Hill Lelikan in Sidekan town of southern Kurdistan, northern Iraq Monday noon.

During the same hours, guerrillas targeted Turkish military units that were preparing for an operation in Çarçela region in Yüksekova district of Hakkari.

Local sources report that dozens of Turkish soldiers were killed in both actions, about which HPG Press Office is expected to release a statement.

On the other hand, guerrillas destroyed construction equipment used in road construction in between Geniş and Konserve hills in the countryside of Hakkari’s Şemdinli district on Monday.
