Turkish Armed UAV downed in Şırnak

Guerrillas downed an armed UAV of the Turkish army in Şırnak.

According to a statement by HPG Press Office, guerrillas carried out an action targeting an Armed Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (SİHA) trying to land on the airport of Şerafettin Elçi in Şırnak province on June 19, at 15.30. The SİHA was downed in the action.

“The SİHA, which was downed between Hoser village in Xezex district, was totally destroyed. After the action, the invading Turkish army launched an operation in the area. This operation was withdrawn without any result on June 22”, said the statement which continued as follows;

“Within the scope of the Martyr Pîroz and Martyr Agirî Revolutionary Campaign, our guerrilla forces carried out an action against the invading Turkish army troops positioned on Barrak hill in the territory of Barzan in the South Kurdistan on August 6. One soldier was killed in the action.

On July 27, the invading Turkish army launched an operation in Yayladere area of Bingöl province with the support of unmanned aerial vehicles and contra units. The invading Turkish army which carried out search activity in the operation withdrew from the area on August 4. The disguised units are positioned in the area and are carrying out ambush activities.”
