Turkish air raids target Medya Defense Zones

HPG Press Centre reported that the Turkish army carried out air strikes against the Medya Defense Zones in southern Kurdistan (northern Iraq) between January 31 and February 8.

The Press Centre of the People’s Defense Forces (HPG) reported that the Turkish armed forces carried out large-scale air attacks against guerrilla-held Medya Defense Zones between January 31 and February 8. It added that the Turkish attacks did not yield results. The Press Centre released the following information on the latest Turkish attacks:

“On January 31, between 19:10 and 19:50, Turkish helicopter mobility was observed in the Basya area of the ​​Avaşîn region. The Werxelê area was simultaneously bombed by Turkish attack helicopters.

On February 1, between 19:10 and 22:30, Turkish helicopter mobility was reported in the Mervanos area in ​​the Avaşîn region.

On February 2, between 12:10 and 12:30, the village of Şêranê in the Garê region was bombed by Turkish fighter jets.

On February 5, between 10:00 and 10:30, the villages of Gûzê, Yekmale, Ergene, Bilmendê, Şiyê in the Garê region were bombed 9 times and the Kafya area 5 times by Turkish fighter jets.

On February 5, between 10:00 and 10:15, Gundê Fileha, Girê Bahar and Sergelê villages in the Zap region were bombed 3 times by Turkish fighter jets.

On February 8, between 10:00 and 12:20, the Lolan River area in ​​the Xakurkê region was bombed 4 times, and the Girê Roste and Girê Bizina areas of Goşînê were bombed 8 times by Turkish fighter jets.”
