Tevgera Azadî condemns the attacks in Hewler and Sulaymaniyah

Tevgera Azadî stated that Monday’s attacks in Hewler and Sulaymaniyah took place because of the Kurdistan regional government’s silence and vowed to fight to defend the legitimate rights of the Kurdish people everywhere they are attacked.

The Freedom Movement (Tevgera Azadî) based in Southern Kurdistan (Northern Iraq) released a statement condemning Monday’s armed attack on KNK (Kurdistan National Congress) in Hewler (Erbil) and the drone attack on the Arbat Airport in Sulaymaniyah. The armed attack on KNK Office left Deniz Cevdet Bülbün dead, while the attack on Arbat Airport in Sulaymaniyah killed three peshmerga fighters and injured one other.

Tevgera Azadî pointed out that the murder of KNK Hewlêr Representative Deniz Cevdet Bülbün was a sign of a regional conspiracy towards the Kurdish question. According to the movement, the attacks on Monday targeted the status and rights of the Kurdish people.

Tevgera Azadî stated that the KDP, the ruling party in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, cooperated with the enemy and eliminated the Kurdish freedom forces.

“The KDP’s support for the enemies and occupiers harms the Kurdish people and their national status in many respects. Unless the regional government stops its spying activities, the Kurdish people will be faced with a policy of massacre and genocide,” said the statement.

Remarking that the attacks took place because of the Kurdistan regional government’s silence, Tevgera Azadî vowed to fight to defend the legitimate rights of the Kurdish people everywhere they are attacked.

The statement concluded: “The enemies of the Kurds will make no distinction between any Kurds. It is treason to legitimize the fascist enemy. We must stop this anti-propaganda that harms the Kurdish cause and serves the enemies and occupiers of Kurdistan.”
