Historic popular resistance endures for the 95th uninterrupted day in Amed's central Sur district which remains under tank and artillery fire of state forces.

The bombardment of neighborhoods continue ceaselessly despite dozens of civilians still being trapped in the areas under fire, facing a threat of imminent massacre like in Cizre where as many as 180 people were burned to death while awaiting evacuation from basements where they had been trapped amid increasingly continued attacks.

Attacks by Turkish military and police forces intensify mainly in Savaş and Hasırlı neighborhoods since early this morning. Both neighborhoods are being targeted with intense artillery and mortar fire. While the aggression has demolished some buildings, no information was immediately available as to whether attacks have resulted in casualties or not.

Relatives of trapped civilians have in the meantime stated that they had no contact with them since yesterday noon.

On the other hand, a total of 44 people, including 19 children and baby Elif Su, who were evacuated from Sur last week are still being held in custody. These include wounded people in urgent need of medical aid.
