Shengal Autonomous Assembly urges Yazidis to protest Turkish chemical attacks

The Shengal Democratic Autonomous Assembly has urged the Yazidi people to stage protests against the chemical attacks carried out by the invading Turkish state.

The Shengal Democratic Autonomous Assembly has issued a written statement about the invading Turkish state's use of chemical weapons against freedom guerrillas.

The statement said that the Turkish attacks against the guerrilla forces in Zap, Metina and Avaşin also aimed at the invasion of Iraq and the Kurdistan region.

'Turkish army uses chemical weapons to cover losses'

The statement pointed out that the Turkish state suffered a defeat by the freedom guerrillas and resorted to chemical weapons to conceal this defeat. "The HPG announced that the Turkish state has used chemical weapons 2500 times in the last 6 months. Especially recently, it has focused on the use of chemical weapons, which killed 17 guerrillas in the last 2 months. So far, no international institution has done anything. KDP forces prevented some institutions from conducting investigations. The KDP thus concealed the war crimes of the Turkish state."

'Our duty is to stop the attacks'

Freedom guerrillas came to save us from the ISIS massacre against the Yazidis. Currently, freedom guerrillas are subjected to massacres. It is now our responsibility to stop these attacks. Just as the guerrillas defended the Yazidi community, we must defend the guerrillas. We urge all relevant international organizations, especially the United Nations, to take action against the crimes committed by the Turkish state against humanity. In particular, the Iraqi state should take steps against the chemical attacks carried out by Turkey.

The Yazidi and Shengal people stand by the guerrillas. Our hearts are with the  guerrillas. We will act to prevent these attacks."
