DBP, HDP, DTK, Bazid Democratic People's Assembly, Doğubayazıt Municipality, TUHAYD-DER and Sema Yüce Women's Counseling Center declared self-governance in Ağrı's Doğubayazıt (Bazid) district.
DBP (Party of Democratic Regions), HDP (Peoples' Democratic Party), DTK (Democratic Society Congress), Bazid Democratic People's Assembly, Doğubayazıt Municipality, TUHAYD-DER and Sema Yüce Women's Counseling Center declared self-governance at a press conference they held in Yenimahalle district of Ağrı's Doğubayazıt (Bazid) district yesterday.
Speaking here on behalf of the institutions, DBP Doğubayazıt district o-chair Muhsin Kula recalled that the AKP government staged a civil coup in the wake of its defeat in June 7 elections. Kula pointed out that in response to the process of resolution which was initiated by Kurdish people's leader Abdullah Öcalan in order for a democratic and political solution to the Kurdish question in early 2013, AKP overturned the negotiations' table and started to pursue its old politics on the verge of the accomplishment of the talks.
Describing the attacks of Turkish forces on civilians in Silopi, bombing of civilians in Zergelê and executions in Cizre as a repetition of the already tried and failed policies, Kula told that once again today, Turkish security forces were evacuating villages, blockading cities, committing inhumane crimes against the bodies of fallen guerrillas and burning down the living areas of civilians in the Kurdish region.
Remarking that all these inhumane practices were being committed on behalf of the Turkish state, Kula said; "It should be known that we cannot be at peace with such a state. In this regard, we announce hereby that we will not recognize the state institutions, without denying the state itself, and that we will be ruling ourselves from now on. It is not the governors and district head officials appointed by the state but those to be elected by our side that will form a basis for our ruling henceforwards."
Kula added that they would be defending themselves against all the attacks targeting their self-rule.
