SDF thwarts attacks by the Turkish army and allied mercenaries on Tishrin Dam and Qereqozak Bridge

SDF forces continue their actions against the occupation forces that are conducting attacks in North-East Syria.

The Press Center of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) released a statement providing information about the latest actions by their forces and attacks by the Turkish army and its SNA (Syrian National Army) in North-East Syria.

The SDF statement on Sunday includes the following:

“Yesterday, our forces thwarted the attempted attacks of the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries on our positions in the vicinity of Tishrin (Tishreen) Dam and Qereqozak Bridge.

After the occupation’s warplanes launched a series of airstrikes on the vicinity of Tishrin Dam, accompanied by heavy artillery shelling targeting villages in the dam’s countryside, southeast of Manbij, our forces successfully thwarted an attempted attack by the occupation’s mercenaries, at approximately 5:00 PM, on one of our positions near the Syriatel Hill. Direct clashes erupted that led to several mercenary casualties, though the exact number remains unknown.

Additionally, the occupation’s warplanes carried out multiple airstrikes on the villages of Al-Tina, Ghasq, and Melha, near the Qereqozak Bridge, causing significant material damage to civilian homes and property. The occupation and its mercenaries also indiscriminately shelled the villages of Al-Tina, Ja’dah, Bir Hissou, Ghasq, Dekan, Melha, and Al-Sana’a, as well as the Sayfi Hill and Qereqozak Hill. More than 60 shells were fired using heavy artillery, tanks, rocket launchers, and mortars, leading to extensive damage to civilian infrastructure.

On the Qereqozak axis, clashes erupted between our forces and the mercenaries, resulting in the elimination and injury of several mercenaries. The exact number of mercenaries eliminated and injured remains unknown.

In response to these attacks, our fighters conducted two operations targeting Qereqozak checkpoint and Qereqozak hill, resulting in further casualties among the occupation’s mercenaries, though the precise numbers remain undetermined.

On the Deir Hafer front, a suicide drone attempted to strike one of our positions but was successfully intercepted and shot down by our forces.

Meanwhile, Turkish occupation warplanes and UCAVs intensively patrolled the airspace of Kobani, Ain Issa, and their surrounding areas.”
