Refugees in Maxmur marched to protest the heavy isolation imposed on Kurdish people's leader Abdullah Öcalan.

The people gathered in front of the Martyrs Committee Institution and marched through the camp, carrying banners with different slogans along with photos of Abdullah Öcalan.

The march continued in front of Maxmur Culture and Art Institute, where a statement was read. After a moment of silence, Ishtar Assembly Coordination Fadile Tok made a statement.

Fadile Tok drew attention to the severe isolation imposed upon Kurdish people's leader Abdullah Öcalan and said: "The approach of the Turkish state and international powers towards the Kurdish people and their leader is inhumane. The approaches developed are immoral and against the will of the Kurdish people. We say 'enough is enough' to those who want to destroy the Kurdish people and carry out a genocide against them. The Kurdish Freedom Movement and Leader Öcalan have become a torch of freedom for the Middle East. He is leading the way for all humanity to live in peace. Conspiracy forces don't even recognize their own laws anymore. The Kurdish people will increase their struggle against it."

At the end of his speech, Tok said: "As Kurdish people, we do not accept these practices against our leader and we are fighting against them. The work and strength of the people in this camp will contribute to the achievement of the freedom of our Leader. We do not accept a life without our Leader."
