According to a statement released by the Press Office of the HPG (People's Defense Forces), UAVs of the Turkish army conducted reconnaissance flights over the Mergezerê and Çarçella areas of Medya Defense Zones.

HPG listed the reconnaissance flights of the Turkish army on July 3-4 as follows;

- over Avashin area at between 04:00 – 12:00 on July 4

- over Metina area at between 19:00 - 22:00 on July 3,

- over Zap region and borderline at between00:30 – 11:30 on July 4,

- over Ez, Xızruk, Gustika and Kameran villages in Tatvan district of Bitlis at between 11:00 – 13:00 on July 3,

- over Karakoçan district of Elazığ and Yayledere area of Bingöl at between 19:00 – 00:00 on July 3,

- over Besta area of Şırnak the same day.

HPG reported that Turkish troops deployed at the Girana border post at the border to Avashin opened fire with heavy artillery, targeting the Hill Xwedê and surroundings at 23:00 on July 3.

The statement said that the same day, troops at Serbesta guard post in Uludere district of Şırnak also conducted a bombardment in the surrounding areas at between 03:30 and 04:30.

An intense activity of Sikorsky type helicopters also took place over the area of Serbesta guard post, and between hill Aruşê and Çukurca district at between 06:00 – 16:00 the same day.

HPG lastly reported that aircraft of the Iranian army also carried out reconnaissance flights over Kandil region of Medya Defense Zones.
