Turkish army forces laying ambushes have carried out a military operation against guerrillas in Siirt province, the HPG reported, saying that guerrillas had returned fire instantly.

HPG stated guerrillas withdrew their forces by acting responsibly after a short-lasting conflict took place.

HPG Press and Communication Center reported that the bombardments, aerial activities, ambushes, operations, provocation attempts and counter-guerrilla activities by the Turkish army were going on.

The following detailed information was given in the HPG statement regarding military activities of the Turkish army:

Turkish soldiers deployed at Oremar guardhouse in Yüksekova district of Hakkari bombarded Satê village area in Zagros region of Media Defence Zones by howitzers and mortars between 08.00 and 09.00 on June 13. Furthermore, the Turkish army's unmanned aerial vehicles (UHVs) performed reconnaissance flights over Çarçella area between 07.00 and 09.00 in the same day.

Turkish soldiers deployed at Oremar guardhouse in Yüksekova district of Hakkari conducted a bombardment by howitzers and mortars against Martyr Bager and Martyr Rahime areas located on the borderline of Avashin area in Media Defence Zones between 17.00 and 18.00 on June 13. The guerrilla forces fired a warning shot immediately against the attacks carried out by the Turkish army whose activities continued by bombardments against Martyr Zerdeşt, Martyr Bager and Martyr Rahime areas with the participation of the Turkish army's UAVs between 19.30 and 21.00.

The Turkish army's UAVs performed reconnaissance flights on June 13 over,

- Metina area of Media Defence Zones between 19.00 and 00.00,

- Gare area between 20.30 and 22.00,

- Zap region between 06.00 and 16.00,

- Çiyayê Reş area located on Zap region border line between 22.00 and 00.00.

MILITARY OPERATION AND PROVOCATION ATTEMPT IN SİİRT PROVINCE

The Turkish army carried out a military operation between Tirya and Xargul guardhouses in Eruh district of Siirt at 09.00 on June 13. Ambushes were laid against the guerrilla forces who were on the move in the operation area. The guerrilla forces noticing the ambush returned fire against the fire instantly and withdrew from the area by acting responsibly after a short-lasting conflict took place.

CONTER ACTIVITIES IN PIRAN PROVINCE OF AMED

A four-person counter team in imam clothes demanded provisions from inhabitants in the name of guerrillas in Goma Esma village located between Heredax and Beyaz Çeşme villages in Piran district of Amed at 12.30 on June 13. The counter team also said they had worn imam clothes compulsorily and had threatened inhabitants with insults. The counter team recorded films of the people living in the village and of the surrounding areas.
