A delegation from the Protestant Churches Union of Turkey is paying a visit to Kobanê in order to assess its needs and to contribute to the reconstruction of the town.
The delegation first arrived at the Suruç district of Urfa after leaving Amed and then crossed into Kobanê in order to assess how they can contribute to the reconstruction process in the town. The pontiff of the Diyarbakir Protestant Churches, Ahmet Güvener, is leading the delegation comprising two members from the executive of the Union, Şaban Ok and Bedri Peker and Rojava Aid and Solidarity Association co-chair Mümin Ağcakaya.
The delegation first visited the Suruç municipality, where they handed over two trucks of aid to Rojava Aid and Solidarity Association executives.
Speaking here, the pontiff Ahmet Güvener said the Protestant Churches have so far provided aid to Yazidis and people from Rojava who took refuge in Turkey, but they wanted to go to Kobanê to see the situation for themselves and learn how they can contribute to the reconstruction process more concretely. Güvener said they will continue providing aid in a more systematic way to meet the concrete needs that they will identify in Kobanê.
The delegation then crossed into Kobanê from the Mursitpinar border gate.
