HPG guerrillas have detained a police officer after closing the Amed-Bingöl road in Lice district of Amed this evening.

Following an ID check on the people stopped travelling on the road, guerrillas detained a police officer by the name of Sedat Yabalak who was on his way from Erzurum to Urfa with his family.

Following the detention, HPG guerrillas left the scene where police and soldiers launched an operation on hearing about the incident.

It is reported that the detained police officer was recently appointed from Hatay to Urfa police directorate.

Another police officer by the name of Vedat Kaya had also been detained in Abalı region on Amed-Bingöl road four days ago.
